Heart of the Forest TourTour
The tour lasting four hours takes in the beautiful sights of the New Forest. We start at the world famous Exbury Gardens owned by the Rothschild family we also visit Brockenhurst, Beaulieu, Lyndhurst and Burley.
We will collect you from your hotel or Southampton Cruise Terminal and drive you to Exbury where there will be time to visit the world class gardens (For a small extra charge to the entrance fee they operate a Golf Buggy ride driven by a knowledgeable guide that will drive you around the estate in about 3/4 of an hour).
From Exbury we pass through Beaulieu, Beaulieu means "Beautiful Place" and that is what it is. It lies at the head of the Beaulieu River, which at this point is tidal, thus attracting an abundance of wild fowl and sea birds both at the river itself on the one side and the lake on the edge of the grounds of Palace House on the other.
Next in the heart of the New Forest is Lyndhurst it is often referred to as "The capital of the Forest". This is the home of the District Council Offices; the New Forest Centre which houses a Museum, and the Tourist Information Bureau. Also nearby is Queens house the local offices of the Forestry Commission which is joined to the ancient Verderers Court which will be discussed during the tour. The local church yard holds the grave of Alice Liddell, who was the inspiration for Lewis Carol's "Alice in Wonderland". The "Mad Hatter's" Tea rooms are located in the High Street.
Brockenhurst is next to visit it boasts village shops, cafes and public houses. During World War One Brockenhurst was a place of convalescence for wounded soldiers, mainly New Zealanders. In World War Two, the area and in fact much of the Forest was used to hide the build-up of troops and equipment in preparation for the D. Day invasion.
The last village that we visit is Burley it has a magical theme as a one time home to a coven of White Witches and a haunt of Smugglers from olden times. Plenty of shopping opportunities here.
The tour will include a stop at a traditional New Forest pub or a Tea room for a traditional English Cream Tea. These are optional. We aim to be flexible to suit the different times of the year. Please note the prices include transportation and a friendly experienced guide. Prices do not include tickets or food and drink.
Price:60.00 Per Person

The tour visits two small country churches. These churches rely on donations to help with the upkeep of the buildings. I ask clients to make voluntary donations in each church; the minimum donation I suggest at each church would be £5.00. I would be quite happy to exchange USD and Euro’s.
